Privacy policy
How NESOL Sàrl handles personal data when you visit this website or contact us. Last updated: 15 October 2026.
1. Who is responsible
The controller responsible for the processing of personal data on this website is:
NESOL Sàrl — Numerical Engineering Solutions
Avenue de la Gottaz 34
1110 Morges, Switzerland
E-mail: info@nesol.net
For any question about data protection, or to exercise your rights, write to us at the address above.
This policy is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, in force since 1 September 2023) and, where applicable to visitors in the European Union or European Economic Area, on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What data we process, and why
2.1 Visiting the website
When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records technical data in server log files: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, referring page, browser type and operating system. This is needed to deliver the website and to keep it secure and stable (detecting and preventing misuse). These logs are not combined with other data and are not used to identify you. They are deleted after 30 days, unless they are needed to investigate a security incident.
Legal basis (GDPR): our legitimate interest in operating a secure website, Art. 6(1)(f).
2.2 Contact form and e-mail
When you use the contact form or write to us by e-mail, we process the data you provide — name, e-mail address, company or organisation (optional), topic (optional) and your message — solely to answer your request and, if relevant, to prepare an offer or carry out a project with you. The form only sends your message once you have ticked the consent box.
Form submissions are delivered to us by e-mail. We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and for the applicable statutory retention periods (for business correspondence linked to a contract, generally 10 years under Swiss law). Otherwise, we delete it at the latest 2 years after our last exchange.
Legal basis (GDPR): steps prior to entering into a contract, Art. 6(1)(b); your consent, Art. 6(1)(a); our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, Art. 6(1)(f).
2.3 Map on the contact page
The contact page shows a map provided by OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom). To display the map, your browser connects to OpenStreetMap’s servers, which receive your IP address and technical browser data. We do not receive any data from this connection. The United Kingdom is recognised by Switzerland and the EU as providing an adequate level of data protection. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
The map is only loaded with your consent: until you click “Show map” or “Accept all” in the consent banner, no connection to OpenStreetMap is made. You can withdraw your consent at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Legal basis (GDPR): your consent, Art. 6(1)(a).
2.4 Cookies, analytics and social media
This website does not use analytics or tracking tools, advertising cookies, or embedded social-media plug-ins, and it does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting platform may set technically necessary cookies (for example for security and load balancing); they contain no personal profile and are not used to track you. Fonts are served from our own server; no fonts are loaded from third parties.
On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept external content (the OpenStreetMap map). Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under the key nesol-consent, so that we do not ask again on every page. It contains only “all” or “necessary” and the date of your choice, is never sent to us, and you can change it at any time via “Cookie settings” or delete it in your browser settings.
The LinkedIn icon is a simple link. LinkedIn only receives data if you click it and leave our website; LinkedIn’s own privacy policy then applies.
3. Who receives your data
We do not sell personal data and do not share it with third parties for marketing. Your data is only processed by:
- our hosting provider, Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland), with servers in Switzerland, which operates the website and its server logs on our behalf;
- our e-mail provider, Microsoft (Microsoft 365), with our data stored in Switzerland, which stores our correspondence on our behalf;
- OpenStreetMap, as described in section 2.3;
- authorities, where we are legally required to disclose data.
Our service providers process data only on our instructions and under data-processing agreements. If personal data is transferred to a country without an adequate level of data protection, we rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, as recognised by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or on another legally recognised safeguard.
4. Your rights
Under the FADP, and the GDPR where it applies, you have the right to:
- obtain information about the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted or its processing restricted;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future;
- receive data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used format (data portability).
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@nesol.net. We may ask you to prove your identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); in the EU/EEA, the data protection authority of your country of residence.
5. Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The contact form includes protection against automated spam.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The version published on this page applies.
